A future star drew his first breath in Texas but at the age of 14 moved with his mother to St. Louis, Missouri. There, he got interested in sports and even thought of pursuing a professional career in that particular industry. Nonetheless, everything changed when he fell in love with music and especially, rap culture.

In 1996 he created a band called St. Lunatics and that same year they even released their first single Gimme What You Got that became a real hit in the city and was sold with 7000 copies. However, the years were passing and the group didn’t manage to reach any success. That’s why Nelly decided to pursue a solo career.

Soon after that he signed a contract with Universal Records and in 2000 introduced the first album Country Grammar that was sold with 10 million copies only in the US. In total, the artist presented 7 successful studio albums, 1 remix album and 2 compilation albums.

The celebrity can also be seen on a big screen, e.g. The Longest Yard, CSI: NY, A Fall from Grace and other TV projects.
