Ian Somerhalder

A handsome actor Ian Somerhalder drew his first breath in a little city of Louisiana. His father is an ordinary construction worker and his mother is a masseuse in a medical salon.  When the family moved to Mandeville, a future star got passionate about modeling and when he turned 10 he started traveling to New York for photo shoots. There, he also worked with leading modeling agencies, did runways in Paris, Milan, London and collaborated with multiple international brands starting from Versace and finishing with Calvin Klein.

At 17 his modeling contract came to its end and Ian decided to try his hand in acting. He relocated to New York and began visiting all possible and impossible auditions. He debuted on a big screen in a film called Black & White. After that he appeared in many TV projects, including: The Rules of Attraction, Smallville, Celebrity and others. Nonetheless, what really helped him achieve amazing career success is his main role in super popular TV series The Vampire Diaries.

Apart from the filmmaking industry, the film performer is an animal advocate, who created a foundation that works with people to bring positive impact to the planet and its creatures.
