A remarkable movie star Gerard Butler was delivered in Scotland and is the youngest child in a family, having a brother and a sister. When he was an infant, the family moved to Canada, where his father wanted to be a bookmaker. However, he never succeeded and that’s why the actor’s parents divorced. The mother moved back to Scotland with kids and a future star began attending St. Mirin’s and then St. Margaret’s High School. After that he entered the University of Glasgow, where he studied law.
However, he has always been passionate about the filmmaking world and that’s why he moved to LA to try his hand in acting. After months of auditions he finally got his first role, yet it didn’t make him famous. Soon after that he came back home to work as a lawyer but was quickly fired because of his addiction to alcohol.
Butler then relocated to London, where he worked as a waiter to make the ends meet. Then he was hired as an assistant of a casting manager in a theatre. Despite the fact that he was just an assistant, he demonstrated his acting talent and got his first role. Having gained experience, he went back to Los Angeles, where his career boomed within a blink of an eye. He appeared in such great TV projects as Dracula, Phantom of the Opera, Attila, 300, P.S. I Love You and dozens of others.
