The beginning
The love story of two singers began at The X Factor show in 2011. At that time Zayn Malik was invited there as a performer, while Perrie Edwards was fighting for the victory with a band Little Mix.

It is not known for sure when exactly these two love birds got romantically involved but they became Instagram official in the end of spring 2012. They were seen on a date together and so, there was no sense to deny romantic feelings. That’s why they posted a cute photo of them kissing on a scooter, thus confirming their relationship status.
Cheating rumors
In January 2013 there began spreading rumors of Malik’s infidelity with a waitress, who he met in one of London clubs. However, he denied everything and even got a tattoo of his girlfriend on his arm.

In August of 2013 Zayn broke the hearts of millions of female fans across the globe by proposing to Perrie. According to the Us Weekly, Edwards’ mother confirmed the engagement, saying that she was over the moon, as they were really in love with one another.
Gifts and surprises
In 2014 the couple was still going strong and Zayn even presented his soul mate’s mother a house in Dorset. That same year the lovely pair celebrated Perrie’s 21st birthday together. The singer organized a nice fairground themed party for her, inviting her closest friends and family.
Breaking up by text message
In August 2015 Zayn called off the engagement with his long-term girlfriend. According to many sources, Edwards was simply devastated. Later, she broke silence, stating that he dumped her by text message. In his turn, Malik claimed that he loved her a lot and would never end such a beautiful relationship like that!
