A popular stand-up comedian, an actor, a radio host, a writer and an activist- yes, it is all about such a versatile personality as Russell Brand.
He was born in a creative family of a photographer Ronald and his wife Barbara. However, the celebrity’s childhood can’t be described as the happiest one. First of all, his parents divorced when he was a kid, then at the age of 7 he was sexually abused by a school teacher and then his mother was diagnosed with cancer, so he had to live with relatives. Being a teenager, he left school and home and found himself quieting in drugs.
The only brightest thing in his life was his passion for acting. That’s why he decided to get proper education in this particular industry and entered Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts. He also studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art but unfortunately, the studies didn’t last long because of his addiction.
Comedy genre was the only way out for him and he debuted on stage in 2000 in a competition among young comedians, where he won fourth place. That same year he appeared on MTV as a video jockey but was fired within a year.
As for his career in the moviemaking world, Russell first appeared in various sitcoms but later started featuring in more serious TV projects. To name just a few: St. Trinian’s, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Get Him to The Greek, etc.
