An internationally-known movie star Octavia Spencer was delivered in Alabama and became the sixth out of seven children in a family. The celebrity’s mother worked as a maid, while the father died when she was just 13.
A future star finished Jefferson Davis High School in 1988 and then got a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts from Auburn University.
While studying at the University, Octavia worked part-time as an intern on sets of films and then became a casting manager’s assistant. At 25 she relocated to LA to pursue an acting career and soon enough debuted in a movie called A Time to Kill. After that she appeared with small roles in such TV projects as The 6th Man, Chicago Hope, ER, The X-Files and many others. In the beginning of 2000ies, the actress featured in 25 films, including Spider-Man, Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde, Bad Santa, Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous, Pretty Ugly People, etc.
