A widely-known film star and singer Jennifer Hudson was welcomed to her parents Samuel and Darnell and became the third and the youngest child in a family.
She started demonstrating artistic skills at an early age and that’s why parents signed her up with a church choir and community theatre, where she could develop her acting gift.
A future star studied at Dunbar Vocational High School and then entered Kennedy King College after which she began pursuing an acting and singing career.
In 2004 she became a participant in the 3rd season of a super popular show American Idol, where she took the 7th place. After that she was invited to take part in a musical drama called Dreamgirls that didn’t only make her recognized overnight but also brought several awards, including BAFTA, Best Supporting Actress, Golden Globe Award, etc.
